Terms & Conditions

Last updated: 24 September 2026

These Terms & Conditions (“Terms”) govern your use of the TyingTheKnot.app website and wedding app platform (the “Service”). By creating an account, building a wedding app, or using the Service as a guest, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

01About these terms

The Service is operated by TyingTheKnot.app. Questions about these Terms should be sent to hello@tyingtheknot.app. These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy and Cookie Policy, form the entire agreement between us regarding the Service.

02Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old to create an account as a couple. Guests under 18 may only interact with a wedding app (RSVP, guestbook, uploads) with the consent of a parent or guardian. By using the Service you confirm that you meet these requirements.

03The Service

TyingTheKnot lets a couple:

  • Build a personalised, mobile-first wedding app through a guided wizard.
  • Choose a theme and monogram, and add pages such as schedule, venue and directions, menu, dress code, gifts, accommodation, FAQs, the couple's story and custom pages.
  • Publish the app at a unique link and, where enabled, make it installable on a phone or tablet.
  • Collect RSVPs and guestbook messages.
  • Collect guest photos and video messages, with moderation.
  • Organise media into albums in the Memory Vault.
  • Download the full media collection as a ZIP archive.
  • Receive transactional email notifications.

We may add, change or remove features at any time. We will not materially reduce the core functionality you have paid for without reasonable notice.

04Accounts and security

  • You must provide accurate information and keep it up to date.
  • You are responsible for keeping your login credentials secure and for all activity under your account.
  • You must tell us promptly if you suspect unauthorised access to your account.
  • We may suspend or terminate accounts that breach these Terms or put the Service or other users at risk.

05Your content and responsibilities

  • You are responsible for the content you add, including text, images and any custom questions you ask your guests.
  • You must have the right to use any content you upload and must not infringe anyone else's rights.
  • You must not include content that is unlawful, defamatory, harassing, hateful, discriminatory, sexually explicit or otherwise objectionable.
  • You are responsible for complying with data protection law in respect of your guests' information, and for making sure your guests understand how their information will be used.
  • You must not upload malware or attempt to interfere with the Service.

06Guest content and moderation

Guest photos, videos, guestbook entries and RSVPs are submitted by your guests. You can review and moderate guest content from your dashboard (approve, reject or delete). Depending on your settings, guest uploads may be published automatically or held for your approval. We are not responsible for content submitted by guests, but we may remove content or suspend access if we believe it breaches these Terms or the law.

07Pricing and payment

Current pricing is a one-off payment with no recurring subscription:

  • The Complete Wedding App: £99 one-off payment.
  • The Memories Collection (optional upgrade): £49 one-off upgrade.

Because this is a digital service, your statutory right to cancel within 14 days ends once we begin supplying the Service, with your express consent and acknowledgement that you lose that right. Payment and invoicing details, including VAT, will be confirmed at the point of payment.

Payment

Payments are processed securely by Stripe. No card details are stored on our servers. No payment is taken when you create an account or start building your wedding app — you pay only when you choose to publish your live app or add the Memories Collection.

Refunds

Because the Service is a digital product supplied instantly on purchase, refunds are not provided once your wedding app (or the Memories Collection upgrade) has been activated, except where required by law. If you believe you are entitled to a refund — for example where a payment was made in error or the Service is not as described — email hello@tyingtheknot.app within 14 days of purchase and we will review your request. Where a refund is issued, the corresponding features and storage will be revoked.

08Storage and fair use

  • Photo and video storage is subject to per-wedding limits (currently 1 GB or 10 GB depending on your package). The applicable limit is shown in your dashboard.
  • Guest uploads are limited to 5 photos and 5 videos per guest, with photos up to 20 MB and videos up to 100 MB / 1 minute.
  • We may apply reasonable fair-use limits to protect the Service and other users.
  • Generated archive ZIPs expire after 48 hours and should be downloaded promptly.

09Acceptable use

You must not:

  • Use the Service for anything unlawful or fraudulent.
  • Upload or share content you do not have the right to share.
  • Attempt to gain unauthorised access to the Service, other accounts or data.
  • Scrape, copy, resell or reverse-engineer the Service.
  • Interfere with or disrupt the Service or its infrastructure.
  • Use the Service to send spam or unsolicited communications.

We may suspend or terminate access for a breach of this section.

10Intellectual property and licence

The Service, its design, software, branding and templates remain ours (or our licensors'). We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use the Service in accordance with these Terms. You retain ownership of the content you upload, and you grant us a licence to host, store, process, reproduce and display that content only as necessary to provide the Service (for example, serving your wedding app to your guests, generating archives and sending notifications). Guests retain ownership of their uploads and, by uploading, grant you and us a licence to store and display the content within your wedding app as configured. We do not use your content for advertising or to train third-party AI models beyond the AI features you actively use.

11Availability and changes

We aim to keep the Service available but do not guarantee uninterrupted, error-free access. We may perform maintenance, update features or change the Service. Third-party providers (hosting, database, storage, email and AI) may occasionally be unavailable, and we are not responsible for their outages.

12Disclaimers and limitation of liability

The Service is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all implied warranties, including fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. We do not warrant that content will be error-free or that media will never be lost — please download your archives and keep your own copies.

To the fullest extent permitted by law: we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential losses, or for loss of data, goodwill or profits; and our total liability arising out of or in connection with the Service is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or your statutory rights as a consumer.

13Termination

You may stop using the Service at any time and request closure of your account by emailing hello@tyingtheknot.app from the email address registered to your account. We may suspend or terminate access for a material breach of these Terms, or where required by law. On termination, we will handle your data in line with our Privacy Policy, including deletion within 30 days of closure.

14Consumer rights

Nothing in these Terms affects your statutory rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 or other applicable UK consumer law. If you are a consumer, you have the right to services that are of satisfactory quality, fit for purpose and as described.

15Governing law and jurisdiction

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. The courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction, except that consumers may bring proceedings in their country of residence where mandatory consumer law provides otherwise.

16General

  • If any provision is found unenforceable, the rest remains in effect.
  • Our failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver of it.
  • We may assign our rights under these Terms; you may not do so without our consent.
